💡 Game You’re Proud Of
I’m most proud of my blocking and how much I’ve improved reading the game. As a middle, I focus a lot on timing, footwork, and being disciplined with my hands, and I currently lead my team in blocks. Blocking is my biggest strength right now, and I’m proud of how much I’ve grown reading hitters and being disciplined at the net.
Before the season started, I put in a lot of extra work training with Coach Kiy (@trainwithcoachkiy) and JVPA (@socal_jvpa). That training really helped my footwork, transition, timing, and confidence, and I feel like it prepared me to compete at a higher level once the season began. So now, when I compete in tournaments, there is no pressure because I’ve been competing against high schoolers and college athletes the whole offseason.
📲 Why This Post Mattered
Being featured on PrepDig CA meant a lot to me because it felt like recognition for all the work I’ve been putting in behind the scenes. Most of my progress comes from early mornings, extra reps, and staying consistent even when no one is watching, so seeing that work acknowledged was really motivating.
It also helped boost my confidence and belief in myself. At my age, it’s easy to question if you’re doing enough or improving fast enough, and being featured reminded me that staying focused on development and effort matters. I’ve learned that the work you do before the season matters just as much as what you do during it.
PrepDig gives athletes a platform, but for me it’s more than exposure. It pushes me to hold myself to a higher standard, represent my team the right way, and keep earning opportunities through hard work and consistency. It made me excited to keep building my journey and seeing how far I can go.
🧠 What Coaches Should Know
I want college coaches to know that I’m not just passionate about volleyball. I play with purpose. I’m hardworking, coachable, and I take every practice seriously. I love being coached, learning new things, and pushing myself to get better, even when it’s hard.
A big reason I am the player I am today is because of my family. They have been with me every step of the way, supporting me, pushing me, and believing in me even when things were tough. My dad has played a big role in my journey. He’s supported me every step of the way and helped guide me through training, mindset, and preparation. Watching him help my sister through her journey to becoming a Division I athlete showed me what dedication, consistency, and sacrifice really look like. Seeing that process up close made me believe that big goals are possible if you’re willing to work for them and commit to the process.
Volleyball became even more important to me after I lost my brother and best friend JR in 2018. Going through that at a young age shaped who I am and how I approach the game. I play every game in memory of my brother and best friend JR, and that pushes me to give my best every time I step on the court.
There are days when training is hard or when I feel tired, but I think about my family, my brother, and everything my dad has poured into helping me grow, not just as an athlete, but as a person. Volleyball gives me a place to channel my emotions and stay focused, and it’s taught me resilience, gratitude, and how to keep showing up no matter what.
I’ll always bring effort, heart, and appreciation into the gym. I don’t take this journey for granted, and I’m committed to becoming the best teammate, player, and person I can be.
