Tuiasosopo will be an impact player in the STVA 18-1 Eddie team that’s entered in the USA Division. Capable of playing both on the left and the right, she’s a dynamic and aggressive scorer who has solid athleticism and intriguing resources to put the ball down. Tuiasosopo has a high contact point and many shots in her arsenal, picking the right options time and time again to beat blockers and defenders. She’s also a solid back-row contributor, stepping up to be part of the team’s serve-receive system and coming up with nice digs in the middle back position.

Tuiasosopo will lead the STVA 17 Mizuno team in the 17 Open division of the tournament. She’s new with the club, having joined this season from Alamo, but is a key piece in their playing system with her strong offensive game. Tuiasosopo can play on the left or the right, but has been mostly used at the pin with her new team, which makes her available more often, especially in transition plays. Her offense is extremely well-developed as with her combination of athleticism, a high contact point and the ability to hit sharp angles, she’s very difficult to stop.

Tuiasosopo and her Alamo 16 Premier team ended the week with five wins and two losses, earning a bid to the Nationals. Originally an outside hitter, she adjusted well to the right when used there, scoring with consistency from both pins. A very explosive player, Tuiasosopo displayed great power in her swings and was also pretty resourceful. She was at her best when hitting quicker sets on the right and was able to swing into a really sharp angle, avoiding blockers and defenders altogether.

Tuiasosopo is one of the most exciting offensive players to emerge in the San Antonio area in the last season and that feeling just became stronger after her strong high school season with O’Connor. She’s tall, athletic and gets off the floor well, but another thing I love about her offense is how well she’s able to ‘hide’ her shot until the last moment, when she sends the ball exaclty where she wants with her great wrist. Tuiasosopo is very efficient in the left and the right (while making very few mistakes) and is also an excellent blocker.

at the pin. She’s very long and athletic and gets off the floor really well every time she goes up to swing. One of the main aspects of Tuiasosopo’s offense, however, is her awareness, as unlike many high-flying pin hitters of her age, who wouldn’t miss a chance of hitting the ball straight down to get a bounce, she almost always uses her high contact point to target the end line, sending the ball out of reach for defenders. She can also hit from the middle and has great success with it, adding another offensive alternative to her team’s arsenal.
