Why do you want to play college volleyball?
~I want to play college volleyball because I truly love of the game. It has been a constant source of motivation, challenge and joy in my life. Playing at the college level would give me the opportunity to continue growing as both an athlete and teammate, all while seeing how far I can take my abilities.
What does your training schedule look like in-season and off-season?
~In my high school season, I focus on doing all I can to be prepared for my games. I go to team practices, and take extra lessons to focus on positional skill development. In the off season, I focus on growth by spending time lifting and conditioning general areas that always need improvement (technique, footwork, general volleyball IQ). I play club volleyball to continue improving as a player outside my school season.
How do you balance school, sports, and your personal life?
~Balancing school, sports, and my personal life takes time management and prioritizing. I maintain a schedule and plan ahead of time so I can stay on top of my schoolwork, especially during the busy parts of the season. I have found that my volleyball and my personal life blend together since my teammates have become some of my closest friends.
What are your strengths and weaknesses as a player?
~One of my strengths is my communication and my work this on the court. I stay positive with my teammates by celebrating their successes and focusing on what is best for the team as a whole. I am committed to always giving 100% when I am on the court. A weakness I have been working on is consistent spot serving especially when under pressure. This is a skill I continue to work on with my coaches to improve my technique.
What are your academic interests or intended major?
~At this stage of my life, my interests range from architecture and real estate to medical fields focused on working with children.
