About Jianna

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a scrappy, fast, and energetic libero/DS who loves to compete and keep every ball off the floor. I pride myself on my quick reads, fast reactions, and consistent serve receive. I bring strong communication and positive energy to the court, and I’m always loud cheering for my teammates. I love being that spark on the team who keeps the defense solid and the energy high every play.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m an outgoing and fun player who loves being on the court and bringing positive energy to every play. I’m always encouraging my teammates and keeping the team’s energy up. I love to compete, stay upbeat, and be that spark that keeps everyone motivated and having fun while working hard.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

My main focus outside of volleyball is advanced academics, where I challenge myself with honors and AP classes while balancing a busy training and competition schedule.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

As a libero/DS, I’ve learned how important leadership and communication are. I’m always talking, cheering, and keeping the team’s energy up. Playing defense has helped me build mental toughness, teamwork, and confidence in supporting others.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My biggest challenge this year has been balancing a full AP course load while managing my time to get extra help when I don’t understand something. This experience has taught me discipline, time management, and perseverance, skills I bring both to the classroom and to the volleyball court.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college where I can continue playing volleyball while pursuing my degree in pre-med. I want a school that challenges me academically while allowing me to contribute to a competitive volleyball program.
