About Jillian

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style is fast and aggressive, whether it's serve receive, digging, or covering my hitters. I sacrifice my body to get every ball up, even if it's just a touch to keep my team going. When I play, I play smart with placement, especially when serving, and I am an extremely loud libero on the court.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality and personality as libero are loud and bright. After a mistake, I shake it off and move on to the next point. When it comes to cheering on my teammates for the littlest things, I cheer loudly and celebrate every point with them.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

In my school, I have participated in multiple clubs and started my non-profit organization, Reach for the Stars. At my school, my friend and I founded the Filipino American Society Association to share our culture. I'm a member of the Clarksburg Debate Team, Clarksburg Mock Trial Team, and the Class of 2028 President. I have received the Gold Star Level of Student Engagement and other awards.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed many leadership skills over the years, I pushed myself with public speaking in debate and mock trials. In volleyball, I have developed excellent communication skills when I am in charge of the back row. To me, teamwork is most important to my team, bonding with them outside of the court, and gaining genuine friendships.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a college that will allow me to have fun with my sport and to improve myself as a student. One that will give me the full experience with my friends and education, the location and education are the most important to me within a college.
