About Josie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a quick libero who stays smart and brings energy and leadership with me to the court. My serve receive and reads are consistent and accurate. I play with energy and discipline with a smile on my face.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is centered around having a short memory. If something bad happens, forget about it and move on. If something amazing happens, build on that energy and focus in on the next ball. Always keep positivity and motivation within the team.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a part of my Student Council, National Honors Society, HOSA, and Book club at my high school. I am taking college credit courses. I have also received awards for Spanish Honors Society, selected for membership in the National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS), Academic Letter Winner, & Principals Honor Roll.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed a strong sense of leadership throughout these past couple of years while I have grown as an athlete and as a person. I lead others through my actions and words. Motivating the people around me is my main method of leadership. I give to my team and community with my passion of building healthy relationships.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a university that has a healthy balance of sports focused and academic focused. I want a strong academic program in my schooling with teachers who understand and support student athletes schedules.

She makes consistent first passes and communicates well on the court. She also recorded 434 serve receptions. She stepped up in a major way for Abilene after playing just 20 varsity sets as a sophomore.
