About Julia

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am very competitive and I love to win. I tend to seek competition and always face new battles head on. I would think I am very aggressive and have a "go" mentality while playing. I try and go the extra mile to be a benefit to my team and help lead us to wins.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a very outgoing person who always looks to motivate those around me and always stays positive. I always try to give 110% while playing and never give up when things don't go my way. My favorite part of playing club volleyball has been meeting new people, and making new friends! I have been playing since 4th grade and I want to continue to play for as long as I can and do what I love.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

At my school, I am a member of our service club. I volunteer during summer at River Camp, a fun summer camp which I am a junior leader at and help kids have fun all summer. Last year for my freshman English class, I was awarded a standout in my class along with a few other classmates.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed a leadership quality. I was a team capitan on my 14s, 8th grade, and 15s team. This role taught me how to help become a team player and want to have everyone do their best and seek the best of the team.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have faced a challenge of a knee injury. It was significant for me because it taught me to overcome it and come back stronger than ever. The event has become something for me to use as a motivation to want to be better to make up for the time I was out.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college with a good environment where I can make lots of friends and feel like I'm in the right place. I hope to be some sort of nurse when I am older and hope to get that out of wherever I end up attending.
