About Julianne

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would have to say that I’m more defensive when it comes to how I play but definitely somewhat aggressive.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I feel as if my personality on the court and off the court is a fun, outgoing, talkative personality. Your personality thrives the game for coaches and more so teammates. My mentality on the other hand can either strive or fall. Most of all players experience this and this is just the start. Getting a quick snap into what I need to accomplish is something I can figure out quickly.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am currently not in other clubs besides volleyball, but for next year, I do look forward to being in more organizations.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed many skills from my sport of volleyball, but the one that I truly thank is communication. Communication is key when it comes to the sport and using this skill relates to my every day lifestyle. For example, your setter telling you what play to run is just like your teacher telling you to finish an assignment.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Personally my significant challenge has to be my parents getting a divorce when I hit grade school. The abuse mentally and physically that me and my mom went through was something unbearable. All I ever wanted was a happy, loving, two parent household, but sometimes we don’t get what we want. Having to pack two bags every weekend is something I never wish on any kid.

What type of college are you looking for?

I tend to look for colleges with good programs. Not necessarily well known colleges. Academically I want a college with a good veterinarian program and sports wise a good volleyball program.

Imes deserves a ton of credit for her contributions on the court. Whether she is playing as a DS or sporting the libero jersey, this girl is going to give her all on the court. Defensively, I thought Imes did a great job of positioning herself to come up with some big digs. She also is quick footed, will track down everything and annything, and made some amazing saves. She also covers well and attackers should be relieved when she is on the court. Imes is for sure going to be one to keep tabs on as she grows her game.
