Juliette has some good length to her at that OH position. Exposure tour coach pointed me over to her. I noticed right away that she seems to track the ball very well. Can get touches and blocks at the net as well. She moves really good as well, covering for tips and setting up in her approach. She serves a really really heavy ball looks like has good top spin on it, tough for serve receive. And when she hits she really can get on top of it and get those kills. Impressive.

She was defined by her all-around game. First saw her during serve receive, her movement and ability to play back row stood out. She passed with accuracy; her stance was good, and her follow-through to prepare for an attack was impressive. So made a point to watch her hit during drills as well in game play. She proved her game is mature, with the ability to block the tool. Always watching the setter and scanning the floor for open court opportunities to create spots for a push or tip. Score’s not just her specialty because she will swing through the block with power like a hammer.

I had seen Vegter play earlier in the club season as she plays up a year in 15u so I had a solid baseline of her skills. However, in a few short months, she has shown incredible growth. One of those developments has been her ability to go around the block and hit huge line shots. She was difficult for teams to stop on the weekend due to the fact that when they adjusted their block, she would either alter her swing or just go up and over the block entirely.

Vegter is just beginning her volleyball career and is already turning heads. Playing up an age division, Vegter was one of the go to attackers on her 15u Rolling Thunder team this past weekend. She has good court awareness, moves quickly, and explodes to the pin. Vegter generated numerous kills by taking some big swings from both pins and out of the backrow. Vegter also plays the net exceptionally well for such a young player. She reads the ball well and can get her hands on nearly everything sent her way. Vegter is going to be one to keep tabs as she continues to grow and develop her game.
