From Ava- “Kailey is an incredibly agile middle who is a constant force in the offense. She never fails to put up a good block. Her transition work keeps the other side on their toes. She is vocal and one of the most athletic and competitive players out there.”

Willsey can play as a middle as well, and its possible that is her ultimate spot at the next level where she is a verbal commit to Central Washington. Regardless of a position she shows a power arm, strong hands as a blocker and a willingness to compete hard against top level talent. Willsey has great torso rotation in her attacks, she is able to utilize more than just her arm to generate power and terminate points. Her versatility to swing from anywhere across the front row and defend in the back row if needed is a plus as the Davis High School and CRU Max 17 player moves forward in her volleyball journey.

Willsey will have to decide on her best position, she showed the ability to pass and play back-row defense at the USAV All-Satr Championships. The junior from CRU has an arm swing that impresses, and she can attack with power from different angles and positions on the court. Willsey hits a heavy ball that sinks and catches the back line or can bust through weak blocks.

Willsey is another versatile Central Washington middle, playing for CRU and AC Davis High School. The 6″0 2025 can pass the ball in serve receive, and that may be a talent she has to put to use in Florida. The big arm swing is there on all the middle attacks, and Willsey is a strong blocker wherever she is playing along the front line. She has shown growth running the slide and the seam from the middle this season, Willsey had excellent timing and was in sync with her setters at Junior Nationals.

Willsey is an under the radar prospect for many outside of the Yakima and Central Washington area. The Davis sophomore put the team on her back this season, and showed she can play defense as a 6 rotation middle. Davis smartly moved her around for swings all across the front line, she has solid power but is at her best turning the ball sharply to score.
