She debuted in our rankings after earning a top performer award at our Prep Dig Showcase. She sets a 5/1 for Northern Virginia Home school. They do not play the most competitive schedule but Kaitlin gets her reps. In one match she served 30 points, stringing together 17 aces.

At American is where she can showcase her skills. The game is faster and she keeps up with the pace. At 5’9″ she has decent height for a setter in the front row. Her hands are strong to push the ball outside. Like most young setters she still needs to work on consistent location, but it has been a year since I last really watched her set.

It is not easy achieving double digits in aces. In a five set win for Northern Virginia Home School Kaitlin served up 17 aces and 30 points for her team against Covenant Christian Academy. It is rumored players on the bench got hoarse just from screaming out “ace” too many times that they had trouble talking the next day. The next closest player on her team with aces had 4 and points with 11, Kaitlin also strung together 9 kills, 20 assists and five digs. Just a few more digs and one more kill would have given her a quadruple double.

Kaitlin was a top performer at one of our Prep Dig showcases this past summer. She also sets for American Volleyball Club . It is no surprise by performance standards that she leads her team in aces with 90. The closest player to her has 39. As a setter she also finds herself third in kills and blocks while also second in digs. Her ,232 hitting percentage is tops on the team.

That 132 ranking may have to move up a notch.

Kaitlyn jumped to 132 in our class of 2027 rankings. A second home schooler to make our newcomer list. Kaitlin won a top performer award at our Prep Dig showcase this year. She showed strong hands to easily push the ball outside.

Prior to the showcase she impressed as the second setter to Danika Swanson Danika Swanson 5'9" | S Patriot | 2027 State VA for American. Normally, Danika sets a 5/1 but American chose to hit her right side while Kaitlin set.

At 5’9″ Kaitlin brings decent height to the setting position but I have yet to see her play front row.

Kaitlin has strong hands for setting. This allows her to easily push the ball outside. She sometimes has the tendency to attack the ball rather than have it settle into her window before setting., This impacts her consistency. Increased repetition should eliminate that.

Her 5’9″ height is good for a setter. For American she substituted out once she hit the front row. At this showcase I did not see any of her hitting.

Kaitlin plays for a home school team. They do not normally play a tough schedule which can hamper your ability to improve.
