Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I would describe my gameplay style as adaptable and focused on the team. As a setter, I can read the defense and move the ball around, making smart decisions to benefit my hitter's success. I have good communication on the court and spread the ball around strategically.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I am very competitive and always have a drive to win, but I also love fun and positive energy on the court. I think that the best games, win or lose, come from playing hard and enjoying every play, as well as appreciating my teammates hard work.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
Outside of volleyball, I am involved in my school's Math Team, Quiz Bowl Team, Drama Club, Woman's Flag Football, and FCCLA, where I qualified for nationals in Star Events. I have also received All-Academic Awards every year in high school so far. Another opportunity I had was getting selected to attend Wisconsin Leadership Seminars in 2024.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
Over the years, I have developed strong leadership and teamwork skills, especially as a setter, where communication and leadership skills on and off of the court are extremely important. I also have learned to stay calm under pressure and adapt to challenges in many different scenarios. Through the clubs I am involved in, I have learned organization skills and a passion to help others.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
During July, right before my sophomore year, I faced a serious injury and was told I may never play volleyball again. Although it was devastating, I refused to give up. With hard work, dedication, physical therapy, and lots of support from my family, I was able to return in 12 weeks. This proved my love for the sport but also taught me how to stay focused on my goals.
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for a small college close to home with a strong biology program. I would like a family-like atmosphere where I can build close connections with the faculty and peers, while valuing academic excellence.
