About Kameah

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’ve competed on elite club teams from the start, consistently performing at a high level. My primary position is outside hitter, with bring versatility as a defensive specialist. I’ve been a varsity starter since freshman year and am now a sophomore. I’m a dedicated, high-energy player with strong work ethic, integrity, and a team-first mindset. I strive to elevate both my game and my teammates.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a great team leader who believes that we work as a team and put energy into one another to achieve our goals. I bring energy on and off the court, get people fired up, and show that we can do anything when we come together. I always have the mindset of “You play how you practice.” I truly love this sport; I give it my all and hope to grow into a greater player over the years.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m not currently in any school clubs, but I focus a lot on volleyball and growing as a person. Through Helene Renea, I’ve learned entrepreneurial skills like creative thinking and taking initiative, and understanding the basics of running a business. I’ve also volunteered with my high school team for tornado cleanup and at local animal shelters, which has helped me grow as a leader and teammate.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Over the past year, I’ve grown into a leadership role on my club team. I believe a great leader is someone teammates can count on for support and encouragement, especially when mistakes happen and they need reassurance. I am a player who likes to hype up my teammates and lead on the court.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I haven’t faced any major life challenges, but as a player, I’ve definitely had moments that have tested me. Whether it’s making a few mistakes in a row or being in a close match, I've learned how to stay focused and keep my energy and attitude positive. I try to be a player who bounces back quickly for the next play. Those moments have helped me grow and be more confident on the court.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a school with a strong, supportive, and positive culture. I plan to major in business, so I'm looking for a school with strong academics and opportunities for growth. I want the feel of a mid-size campus, with great resources, but still personal. Most importantly, I'm looking for a coach who's supportive and genuinely interested in me as a person, not just an athlete.
