About Kariya

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As a volleyball player of 7 years , my game play style is strategy and aggressiveness . I feel like the more aggressive I am , the more things I can accomplish on the court . If I make a mistake it motivates me to be better !

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality and personality is energetic. I’m like a ball of energy . I love cheering people on , on and off the court. But I mainly think of the positive outcome of things instead of the negative .

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am in JROTC , Marching band and my schools batteries included club .

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

The skills ive developed the most are communication , leadership and teamwork ! It took me a while to realize that being on the bench does not mean you’re a horrible player . It just means you have to work hard for a spot .

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Hard challenges I faced were putting myself down when I’d get put on the sidelines . I wouldn’t cheer or speak . But now I cheer my teammates on because that’s what a team player does .

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for any HBCU .
