Centennial has a real winner here in Kate. A NAU commit she is the backbone for the Coyotes this year and one of the best liberos in 5A to say the least. The Lumberjacks got a real steal in Kate, and she should be able to contribute early for them next season.
Her game starts with her first touch, and she is elite in that regard. It doesn’t matter if it is serve receive, defense, or coverage, her platform is consistent and always on target for the her team. Her movement on the floor is effective and intentional and this helps her delevier passes to the setter in total control.
In defense she never gets caught guessing, she always knows where she is suppose to be because her volleyball IQ is through the roof. She uses her quick feet and explosive lateral movement to get to the spot and her defense is based on anticipation and not just reactions. She reads intent from hitters so well and anticipates just as well to reaction for a touch off the block. Her footwork is second to none, and is impressive with her range in that regard.
She is a strong candidate to make a big jump come our rankings update. She is a very high caliber player who every coach would want to have on their team. We see her doing very well at NAU in the years to come.
