About Kate

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I'm a versatile, high-IQ player who does whatever the team needs—whether that’s attacking, or defending. I stay focused, coachable, and ready to make plays in any position. I bring a calm court presence and strong chemistry with my teammates.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m a team-first player who’s coachable, positive, and always ready to step into whatever role is needed. I try to stay composed and move past mistakes quickly—focusing on learning and improving. I bring positive energy, work hard every point, and always try to have fun while competing.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’ve been recognized for academic achievement and try to stay involved in school and my community whenever I can.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve developed strong teamwork and communication skills by learning how to adapt to different roles on the court and support my teammates. I’ve also learned how to stay positive, work hard through challenges, and bounce back quickly from mistakes. Switching to a new position this season taught me how important it is to be flexible and coachable.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

This season, I faced the challenge of switching to a new position (pin hitter to defensive specialist), which required me to learn new skills quickly and adjust my mindset. It wasn’t always easy, especially playing in Open division, but it helped me grow as a player and taught me the value of being flexible and team-focused.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that offers a strong pre-med program alongside competitive volleyball. I want a place where I can challenge myself academically while continuing to grow as a player and be part of a supportive team environment.
