Katie has been a steady defensive presence for a North Hall team that reached the state semifinals after an extended winning run. She has recorded more than 300 digs this season while taking on substantial serve-receive responsibility. Her role is not just to cover the court; it is to make sure the team can transition from defense into a structured attack.

The five-set semifinal against Columbus demanded patience from the back row. Long matches create repeated opportunities for hitters to change their angles, and the libero must adjust without losing the discipline of her starting position. Katie’s value is in providing a dependable defensive foundation through those changes. Her senior experience and familiarity with the team’s defensive system make her an important example of how back-row consistency supports a team’s overall identity. ~ Samantha Fitzgerald @BenchtoBeast_prepdigga
