About Kaylani

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I play with energy, focus, and heart every time I step on the court. I’m quick to react and love diving for the ball to keep the play alive. I take pride in being consistent with my serves and always try to place the ball strategically, not just with power but with smart decision-making. I’m very vocal on the court and always encouraging my teammates—whether we’re up or down in the game.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m a hardworking, determined athlete who always shows up ready to learn and improve. I stay positive no matter what and try to lift up my team when things get tough. I’m competitive, but I also really value sportsmanship and having fun. My coaches often describe me as coachable because I take feedback seriously and use it to get better. I love pushing myself & setting goals both on/off the court.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes! I’m involved in a variety of activities both in and out of school. At school, I’m part of the student leadership program and contribute to our school news team. I also participate in school volleyball and basketball teams. I’ve been recognized as Student of the Month for showing leadership, responsibility, and kindness in the classroom.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Volleyball has taught me how to communicate better and trust my teammates. I am leader in my school's Glee Club, helping the younger kids thrive. I also volunteer monthly with my mom in different organizations. I like to help those in need, whether its giving lunches to the elderly, packing food pantries, or donating my time with the kids at Ronald McDonald House.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced is balancing school, volleyball and musical theatre. Sometimes it’s hard to juggle everything, especially during tournament weekends or when I have a lot of homework. I’ve learned how to manage my time better and stay organized by using a planner and making sure I prioritize my responsibilities.

What type of college are you looking for?

Even though I’m still young, I know I want to go to a college that feels like a second home—somewhere with a strong volleyball program, great coaches, and a supportive team culture. Academics are really important to me too, so I’d love to find a school with good programs in science, health, or sports medicine. I’m looking for a place where I can keep growing as an athlete, student, and leader.
