Keely Depauw, a quick handed setter for Peak VA 17 Black is pushing her team to the limit this week. Her speed and decisive play is keeping her teammates running a high tempo game. She is quick to react to the ball and persistent in feeding her hitters good quality balls to put away. On the other side of the ball, Keely can play defense with the best of them. She dies not hesitate to take the first ball and trusts her teammates to make the play behind her touch. A well rounded setter is a key Peak has has capitalized on this season, and intends to continue to do so in play this week.

Keely DePauw, a Class of 2028 setter and defensive specialist from V.R. Eaton High School in Haslet, is a two-position player whose value comes from the completeness she brings to both roles. Standing at 5’7″ she brings good physical dimensions to the setter position and the back row versatility she offers extends her value beyond the offensive side of the ball in a way that gives any coaching staff real options when designing their lineup. Our scouts at Prep Dig have evaluated her over the years and think she has a high ceiling to keep improving. Her processing speed and court awareness are the qualities that will define her ceiling as her high school career builds, and the competition level she faces every week in practice and in district play is the kind of sharpening environment that produces players who are ready for the next level. Keely Depauw is a skilled setter for Peak VA 17 Black who brings quickness, discipline, and confidence to the position. She gets to the ball efficiently and consistently shows patience and composure by making the right read before delivering a set. Her high volleyball IQ allows her to control the pace of the offense and keep hitters in rhythm throughout the match. Keely’s confidence in her abilities helps her run a fast tempo at the net, creating opportunities for her attackers to be successful and keeping opposing blockers on their heels.

Miss Depauw is currently an unranked prospect in the 2028 class according to our Texas State Rankings, but she should at least make our Watch List once I update them soon based on her performance.  She plays volleyball at V.R. Eaton High School and also for the Peak volleyball club.  Keely is a player who can truly do it all on the court.  Not only is she an extremely talented libero, but she has solid hands to set and can even hit if needed.  Her athleticism is on another level and it shows on every play.  Armed with very fast footwork, she can track down any ball from any location on the court.  Her heels hardly ever hit the floor when she moves and this helps to keep her extremely bouncy.  Her court coaches loved how positive she was with all of her teammates and this kind of leadership is necessary for great team chemistry.  Due to her overall ball control, speed, and awesome leadership style, we will keep our eye on her as she continues her volleyball journey and you should as well.  Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award at our showcase.
