Recently passing 3000 career assists at FWCL, Keira is fully capable of running her own 5-1 at any level and in any situation. Broad-shouldered enough to take up space on the block and volleyball-savvy enough to defend her position at an above-average level, Keira is a full-go, no-quit kid that eats and breathes volleyball since, well, forever. If you sign her, you’re getting a coach on the floor that leads by example and has an unmatched work ethic.

From one of the blue-blood programs in the Fort Wayne area, Keira is a strong and smart setter that is a grinder in the gym. Work ethic and persistence got her this far, and her training and consistency should take her the rest of the way to a commitment sooner rather than later. Her upper body strength allows her to send a perfect ball to either pin to “reverse the flow” with accuracy, while her soft and sure hands make her one of the more deceptive setters on our list today. I also like her footwork—for a shorter-than-average setter looking to play at the next level, she makes up for it with solid footwork and hand placement, no matter where the ball is passed.

Keira is an undersized overachiever who locates the ball better than most. She’s also highly athletic and deceptive, turning what might be an “obvious” out-of-system ball into options for all of her hitters. Considering how quick her outside ball currently is, to see her keep that set in tempo regardless of where the ball is passed is proof positive of her high volleyball IQ—keeping the set in-tempo with her hitters is more important than using a mediocre pass as an excuse to not do so.

Keira, like Sophia listed above, is a high-level setter with a no-nonsense attitude and work ethic. A little more physical than Sophia, it makes perfect sense that both of these kids are from the Fort Wayne area—it might be in the culture of volleyball to just do the job, and do the job WELL. Although net defense might be tougher for Keira because of her size, she sets a great right side block, making it a bit easier for her middle to find her. As for running an offense, Keira locates with the best of them and her tempo is very consistent.

Strong and confident, Keira is an excellent option as a 5-1 setter for the next level. Her hands are high, her ball placement is accurate, and she runs an offense with knowledge of (1) who the hot hitters are, and (2) where the opponent’s defensive liabilities are. A relentless grinder when it comes to training and playing, Miss Dommer is all business from the first whistle to the last, and her mere presence makes all of the hitters around her better as a whole.

Similar in skill set but slightly smaller than Sophia (listed above), Keira is another Fort Wayne-area setter that can get to every pass and make it better for her teammates. Miss Dommer is also willing to be offensive when needed, taking any pass and scoring on her own. I also like what she does behind the baseline, making her a great all-around talent that does more than run an offense.
