About Kenleigh

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style is energetic and intense. I like to spread the offense around to my hitters.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a “we before me” mentality. I consider myself a floor general.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

National Junior Honor Society Student council

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

One skill I’ve developed is leadership. I’ve been running the offense on the court and guiding my team when they’re struggling. Another skill I’ve developed is adaptability. I can adjust my sets to suit different hitters’ strengths and tempos. Clear communication is also a skill I’ve developed. I encourage my teammates and provide them with feedback.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

A challenge I encountered in the past was that my passion was often misinterpreted as aggression. While it didn’t cause us to drift apart, it taught me the importance of using my words effectively and communicating with my teammates. By doing so, I was able to build trust and ensure that they understood my message, rather than being influenced by the tone of my voice.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college with exceptional academic programs, internship opportunities, job placement that aligns with my career aspirations and also financial considerations. I’m particularly interested in a volleyball program with caring coaching staff, mental health resources, and a history of success and tradition of excellence..

Kenleigh is a young setter with a natural feel for the game. I’m impressed by her court awareness and how comfortable she looks making decisions, especially for her age. She does a good job getting her hands to the ball and shows an understanding of basic tempo and spacing. Her confidence as a floor leader is already evident, which is not common this early. As she continues to develop physically and refine her technique, her ability to run an offense will continue to grow.
