Boatman and her Bridgeland teammates will begin their campaign at Katy Taylor HS, meeting Fort Bend Austin, Oak Ridge and Mayde Creek on the opening day. A standout at the club level, Boatman steadily worked her way up in Bridgeland’s hierarchy, becoming the team’s starting setter in her junior year. Now a senior, she’ll lead the team with her solid all-around game and superior technical skills. Boatman has superior ball-handling skills and tends to be creative with her distribution when in system, moving hitters around to put them in the best possible position to score. A tall setter, she has a solid blocking presence and is a threat with her dumps, but also performs well on the backcourt, serving at a high level and playing good defense.

The junior setter had a major role in Bridgeland’s dominant performance as she kept the team’s offensive system very effective in a match in which losing focus could be an issue. Boatman kept all hitters involved and made some interesting combination plays when the team got to work with free balls. She also did several other things well, such as being aggressive with her setter dumps, being always alert to play defense and going into good serving runs. Boatman ended the match with 19 assists, four digs and two aces.

Boatman and her Texas Legacy 16 Elite team got two wins and four losses over the weekend, finishing third. A setter with a good combination of physical and technical tools, she was very good at feeling the game and making and basing her distribution on what her team needed. Boatman was very efficient at using the middles and very precise when she decided to set against the flow. Also a dangerous server, she played a major leadership role with her team, communicating and pushing her teammates on the court.

Boatman will be with TX Legacy 16 Elite competing in the 16 USA division. The setter is a key piece in the team with her ability to make plays and creatively orchestrate their offense. Boatman likes to move hitters around, putting them in an advantage against opposing blockers, but is always precise and reliable with her locations. A tall setter, she’s an asset at the net, but also moves well on the court, doing a good job when she needs to track passes or shanked digs. She also makes an impact on games from the service line with her tough floater.

Boatman will be setting for the TX Legacy 15 Elite team that will compete in the Power Pool of the 15s division. She’s a player that combines size and skills very well and has only gotten better during the season. Her ball handling is excellent and that allows Boatman to be very creative with her playmaking while remaining accurate and consistent. She has great size at 5’11”, which gives her the ability to make an impact at the net, but doesn’t prevent her from displaying very good mobility when going around the court to track passes and digs. The setter also brings a lot of value from the service line, often getting opponents out of system with her tricky floaters.
