Jones made just as big a jump, going from 88-49 this week. The Alabama-Birmingham commit is a player we’ve talked about a few times this spring due to her improvement in her attack game. Jones has always been an above average blocker but now she sees the floor better and to utilize her improved shot selection. She is quick off the floor and a weapon offensively and defensively.

I normally won’t post a player twice in a season but with little tags, I’m highlighting Jones again. The primary reason is the growth in her game that I’ve seen over the last couple of months. Her transitioning off of the net after a block attempt to get ready to attack has grown leaps and bounds and it’s due to her hard work. She is even more explosive in her attacks, bouncing balls all over the court. Also, congratulations on her recent commitment to the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Jones is a player I first saw last club season and her growth continues to be a fun one to watch. I remember last year beaming about her defensive play being ahead of the offense. Well, those days are gone and she is able to be a force when her team has the ball on their side of the net. Her President’s Day highlights shows her court vision with the use of going thumb down to go hard cut.

In watching Kennedy’s highlights I would say her strength right now is her defense and blocking. She has great timing and uses her long arms to press strong over the net. She shows great promise offensively, primarily swinging in front of the setter. She did show the ability to cut her shots and find the open floor while also powering through the block. She also has good awareness on deciding to swing versus using a power throw.
