She can run a quick offense with good precision when in-system while showing good improvement in her accuracy and range this club cycle when she is on the move to pursue the second touch. She has one more season with Fairfield who she led offensively as a hitter in 2024 at 4.7 k/s while also sharing setting duties. For her high school career, she has dished over 1,300 assists while also leading the Greater Miami Conference in total kills last fall.

Ostendorf contributes in about every way possible as a versatile player for the Indians. Ostendorf will put up a solid set one play then come back and smack it hard the next play. She can mix in setter dumps. She controls the tempo of the game and squares up her arms to balls defensively. Ostendorf has good spin on her serves painting the line to end the second game against Lakota West. Ostendorf said the Indians play as a team working hard in practice to achieve success in games. Ostendorf said she takes a lot of pride leading the team.

Ostendorf has more than 1100 assists in her career including 567 last year, but her role seems to have changed more to hitting this year. Ostendorf has a strong swing from the left side. She takes great approaches to the net with a good fake if the ball does not come her way. Ostendorf can angle balls off blockers and out of bounds. She makes quick recoveries to pass tipped balls then quickly transitions to offense. Ostendorf leads the league with 136, which is just five away from her career-high of 141 set as a sophomore last year.

Ostendorf is powerful, athletic and can move the ball around really fast no matter where she is on the court. She is a scrappy defender and gets a lot of touches to give her team a lot of opportuniies to keep the rally going. When Ostendorf connects with the ball she takes a really heavy swing.
