About Kensi

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Smart, determined, composed, decisive, cochable, energized, commanding the court. High IQ of the game.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m a leader, an encouragement to my teammates, determined to do whatever it takes to help my team to a win. Loud communicator. Loves to have fun with my teammates, but down to business. My favorite thing to repeat to myself while playing is, “what are you willing to settle for?”

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Presidential academic award “I am second” award (chick fila award for putting others before myself) National Honor Roll Apart of Student Youth Group

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have always been a leader but volleyball has helped me hone my leadership skills into something that makes me seem mature beyond my years. The setting position also lends itself to being a leadership role. I love being apart of the glue that brings my teammates together on and off the court so that we can be our best on the court.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

A challenge I’ve faced over the years is different coaching techniques that don’t necessarily mesh with who I am as a person or player. I’ve had very long years of just putting my head down and working hard with a smile on my face, and not trying to let degrading words get into my head. I love growing from constructive feedback. I love being coachable!

What type of college are you looking for?

My academics are important to me, so somewhere that values a student athlete. Culture of the volleyball program is also very important to me. Ivy League, “Baby Ivy”, or a strong D3 program.
