About Kierra

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m an aggressive, high-energy Right Side/Outside who plays fast and physical. I love being a reliable option in transition, attacking seams, and scoring in big moments. I take pride in being a steady passer when I’m in serve receive, and I’m committed to doing the “little things” too—smart shots, strong blocking discipline, and staying available as a teammate on every play.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m competitive, coachable, and consistent. I like being challenged and I’m always looking for ways to improve. I’m a positive teammate who brings energy, communicates, and stays composed under pressure. I hold myself to a high standard and I don’t like making the same mistake twice—I want feedback so I can adjust quickly.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m involved in both IHAD (I have a dream) and B'Nurde with are external leadership programs. I’m committed to being a strong student while balancing varsity and club volleyball. I enjoy being part of positive groups on & off campus and staying connected to my community through school events and team activities.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Playing varsity as a freshman taught me how to be accountable, communicate clearly, and earn trust quickly. I’ve developed strong teamwork skills—supporting teammates, being consistent in my role, and doing what the team needs each match. I lead by effort and attitude: I’m the type of player who brings energy, stays focused, and keeps the team together during tough runs.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One of my biggest challenges has been adjusting to a faster, more physical level of play while balancing school, varsity expectations, and club volleyball. Being a freshman on varsity pushed me to grow up fast—learning new systems, responding to coaching, and staying mentally strong when things don’t go my way. It made me more confident, disciplined, and resilient, and it motivated me to keep impr

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college where I can compete at a high level, continue developing as a RS/OH (and keep growing my setting skills), and be part of a team culture that values hard work, accountability, and positivity. Academics matter to me—I want a school that supports student-athletes and offers strong programs so I can succeed on and off the court. I’m open-minded about location.
