McDowell picked up her play even more this season. She makes great adjustments on balls, putting them down from many different parts of the net. She makes quick adjustments on the court. McDowell even mixes in nice cutter shots and shoves to the middle to keep defenders guessing. McDowell is also a sound blocker, defender and server for the Hawks. McDowell had 466 kills, 39 solo blocks, 32 assisted blocks, 235 digs and 57 aces, helping LaRue County go 25-13 and win the 18th District for the first time since 2017.

McDowell was a force blocking for the Hawks last year and has risen to a new level already surpassing last year’s kill total. McDowell can put balls down from the middle and outsides consistently adjusting to set balls. She made a big play in the comeback win over Marion County blocking a ball then quickly adjusting to send the overpass to the back line. She does a good job tipping balls to the middle. She sends a nice cutter shot across the court.
