About Kymber

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Hi! I am a 2030 graduate who plays OH/DS position for my school and club team. My family lives on a farm in Illinois. I am a dedicated volleyball player with a strong passion for the game and the goal of playing at the college level. I am a six-rotation player, which allows me to impact the game in all areas, including serving, attacking, passing and defense.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am always working to improve my overall sport performance through consistent training, skill development, and conditioning. I also believe mental health is an important part of being a successful athlete. I work to stay mentally strong, confident, and focused both on and off the court. I also prioritize proper nutrition and recovery to help my body perform at its best.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in FFA and Science club, and I am also the Vice President of student council for my middle school. I am my team captain for my club and school team.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed leadership by organizing a club project, learning to listen and delegate tasks. Teamwork grew through group projects and sports, where I learned communication, compromise, and supporting others. I volunteer at a local food pantry's and it has taught me responsibility, empathy, and the importance of serving my community. I improved time management balancing school, and activities.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I struggled balancing school, volleyball, and family responsibilities after I joined a volleyball club over 2 hours away. Managing time and stress was hard, but I learned to organize, ask for help, and prioritize. This challenge made me more responsible, resilient, and better at communicating with teachers and teammates under pressure every single day.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a college with a strong competitive volleyball program, ideally Division I or II where I can develop as a player and contribute right away. I want a school with supportive coaches who value growth, good training facilities, and a team culture of hard work and teamwork. Academically, I need majors that match my interests and resources like tutoring and career support.
