Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I am still learning; it's a mixture of everything my coaches are teaching me, but I've brought a lot of energy to the court from day one. I communicate open spots, where the ball is going, whether short, deep, or in specific zones. I want to push the pace of the game, keeping opponents on their toes. If we're down, I will do my best to keep my teammates in the game, on the court or from the bench.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
Volleyball has become a passion. I love pushing myself on the court, uplifting my teammates, and experiencing the adrenaline and joy that comes with team competition. Those who know me would describe me as determined, gritty, positive, and a true team player. I am a starter on my FHN varsity volleyball team. I am a true middle blocker because I enjoy being an anchor for my teammates.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I'm a cabinet member for our student council and a member of the multicultural achievement committee. I have been a student representative for my school on the school district board and achieved GPA-based awards throughout my first two years of high school.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
Throughout my time playing volleyball and being a competitive dancer, I've developed significant leadership and teamwork qualities. I believe that being a good leader and teammate requires selflessness and understanding. It's all about what's best for the team; without this belief, there won't be cohesiveness. Also knowing that sometimes being a good leader is being a good follower,
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
Growing up, one of my main focuses was competitive dancing. Throughout my dance journey, I have been challenged physically, mentally, and emotionally. All of these aspects are required on and off the court, and I’ve learned to love these demands, especially on the court. The challenges I faced regularly from dance have helped me gain self-confidence to conquer any obstacle I'm confronted with.
What type of college are you looking for?
My goal is to play Division I volleyball at a school where I can also get a degree in business and an esthetician license, to one day open up a non-profit that helps low-income people get the skincare help they need without the use of prescription medication.
