About Lavin

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As a setter, I love the high tempo, strategy, and competition of the game. Working with my passers and attackers to make plays keeps the game fresh and exciting; more importantly, creating connections with my teammates.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Hardworking and an "all in & never quit" effort mindset & attitude. But I also like to keep things light and fun - keeping that balance.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

National Honor Society Choir Cardinal Companions (Working with elementary students - social interactions - buddy program) Math League

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Leadership has been an important skill that I have focused on with peer mentorship and coaching guidance. Creating space to lead by example with accountability, commitment and peer-to-peer connections with intention. My entire career our volleyball program has focused on giving back to our community. I volunteer often as a youth camp coach, help out at our local community with farmers market.

What type of college are you looking for?

Regardless of the location (size of the city), I am looking for a campus that will feel like home. A campus that has close-knit communities, lower student to teacher ratios and a strong student-athlete connections.
