About Layla

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My game play style is focused, engaged and also relaxed. Looking for weak areas to attack and how to support my teammates.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My personality and mentality are complex. I am an introvert and extrovert. I am also ADHD and it is my super power on the court. It always me to read quickly and it gives me my quick reaction.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am hands down a shy person until I get to know you. Over the years of playing Volleyball I have learned to be more open to giving my teammates encouragement when mistakes are made and give them what my mom has alway told me, and that is, it’s okay to make mistakes that is how you learn and grow.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

When I first started club travel, I played up a year and I was bullied. It hurt to be treated like I didn’t belong and when my mom and I tried to bring light to the bullying we were told that we were reading too much into it. So I took the bullying and turned it into energy on the court.
