About Layne

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As a right-side hitter and blocker, I bring a strong offensive presence to the court, using my aggressive mindset to attack decisively and keep opponents under constant pressure. My ability to read the ball translates into sharp defensive plays, allowing me to anticipate and disrupt opposing offenses effectively. I thrive in high-pressure moments, and I maintain composure and deliver when needed.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I bring high energy and enthusiasm to every match, feeding off competitive challenges and performing my best against top opponents. My positivity and encouragement help keep teammates motivated, whether it’s celebrating big plays or lifting their spirits in tough moments. As a supportive and vocal presence on the court, I inspire confidence and foster a winning team environment.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Milwaukee Sting Volleyball Club, Delta Softball Club, and I volunteer for the Special Olympics

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Volleyball has taught me to be an effective leader both on and off the court. I have learned that every teammate is unique, and understanding how to best motivate each individual is key to building a strong team. The game has also instilled in me the importance of resilience—accepting that mistakes happen and quickly moving forward to maintain focus and perform at my best.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am seeking a college that can offer me the best education. It would be nice to play volleyball or softball, but education is the most important.
