About Leah

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my gameplay style as consistent, energetic, and team focused. I am an outside hitter who played this season on the varsity team as a freshman. I am mainly a front row pin hitter, however I take pride in my back row work. Overall, I play with hustle, discipline, and smart decision making.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

When I play volleyball, I play with confidence, hustle, and passion. I always want the best outcome for my team. I stay calm under pressure while brining energy and consistency. Coming off of a loss, I like to reflect and prepare to become stronger for the next game.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Off the court, I maintain A-Honor Roll and stay committed to giving back. I volunteer at a local dairy farm, help at youth volleyball camps through my school program, and my club SMV, and work tournaments for younger age groups. I love to help give back and inspire younger players. I'm excited for further future opportunities get involved with.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

When I am on the court, I play with dedication, passion, and determination always trying to push myself to become stronger at challenging times, and work hard for my team. I want to lift up the people around me by bringing positivity every day, on or off the court.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I had the opportunity to go to nationals last club season, which was a challenge for me and my team. We had competition from all over the country which drove our team into a mindset of having fun, while staying focused. Through hard work, we placed second in our division.

What type of college are you looking for?

Being a young athlete, I hope to play at the next level keeping my opportunities and options open. I'm looking for a college to further my education and continue my passion for the sport of volleyball.

She already displayed exceptional skills by being able to attack effectively off the pass, serve receive with consistency, and transition smoothly into her approach. She also demonstrates advances game IQ and court vision by reading the block in front of her and making smart decisions. She consistently finds ways to be impact with every ball sent her way whether it is in or out of system. Greenawalt is definitely one to keep tabs on.
