About Leah

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I prefer to play fast and aggressive. I want to score every time my team has the ball to put us in the best position to win.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a very competitive player, but I also have a very goofy personality. On the court I am very focused, competitive, and ready to congratulate my teammates when they make a great play. Off of the court I am very goofy. I am a little bit shy at first but when I am comfortable I am definitely a “class clown”.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in Future Business Leaders of America, Student Ambassadors, National Honors Society, and Student Council.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Over the course of my athletic career I’ve learned and developed many qualities. Some of which include leadership, integrity, teamwork, honesty, responsibility, and most importantly respect. I also love to help, encourage, and be involved with the youth athletes in my community.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

The town I come from is known for bad culture. When I was in 8th grade I made it a goal of mine to change the culture in my school and community. It has been quite a challenge to get all of my fellow athletes on the same page doing it all alone. But now we have our Athletic Director, coaches, and teachers on board with working together to change our culture.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that has a great culture. I want the school that I choose to have the same morals as I do and value important things such as hard work and integrity. I want to play for a school where my teammates value the sisterhood of being on a team.
