“Winning today meant so much to me, especially playing with the seven other seniors I’ve been with since my freshman year. Going into the game I was nervous and excited, but I knew our team chemistry would carry us to a CIF Championship. We work so hard to make sure we support each other in our huddles and do nothing but uplift each other. I would love for coaches to know that I am a team player and as an athlete I love to compete on and off the court. Even if we were to come up short today, I wouldn’t have wanted to do it with any other team. I can’t wait to see what we can do in state, and I wouldn’t have wanted to take any other road to get here.”
State Run:
Leona will continue her postseason journey on Tuesday, November 11, when Cypress hosts Venice in the opening round of the 2025 CIF State Girls Volleyball Championships (Division II). The match will take place at Cypress High School with first serve scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
