About Lesli

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As a volleyball player, I would describe my gameplay style as dynamic. I focus on maintaining strong communication with my teammates, ensuring we’re always in sync and always hype no matter the score. I’m committed to consistency, whether serving, passing, spiking, or setting and I always aim to stay calm under pressure. I make sure to aim for every spot I hit.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality on the court is to never give up on the ball and to never show your face expressions even when playing a bad game. I value this one a lot because with just one facial expression the whole team could go down with you. So when Im in the court I make sure to look happy and make sure I continue talking regardless of the energy.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in a 17u club this year. I have received an award for best defensive player in my first year in high school. Then I also received a defensive and offensive hitter my second year. I also recently recieved the MVP award for the first tournament with my club.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

The skills I have aquired coming out of my high school team is definitely leadership and better teamwork. This team has taught me about how to take charge even when we are down. As for teamwork I have learned how to better my teamwork and communication. Communication and mental was a big part of high school which helped me be the player I am today.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One of the many challenges I have faced this year is playing in tournaments when my team is down. I find this the most difficult one because as soon as one person is down everyone else will go down with you. I had to learn to put a smile on face and fake it till I make it. In these cases I know my team needs me the most so I put out the best performace I can.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college with not only good sports but good Academics as well. For what I want to become I need the school to have a sonography program as my goal is to become an ultrasound tech. For volleyball I would love a good environment as well as good communication although I know most schools might have this, its the only thing I am really looking forward to.
