About Liana

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I play with a fearless, aggressive mindset and try to stay confident. As an OH and DS, I swing hard, take risks, and stay mentally tough, never letting mistakes get in my head. I bring high, positive energy, resilience, and competitiveness on both offense and defense, and I play with a deep love for the game that shows in my effort every time I step on the court.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am mentally very strong and positive, always staying confident and focused no matter the situation. I’m highly competitive and push myself to be my best while also bringing a bubbly and funny personality that keeps the energy up and makes me a great teammate.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Besides volleyball, I have earned many awards in gymnastics and track and field. I compete as a short-distance sprinter and am a long and high jumper. I also have been recognized for volunteering in my school’s special needs program and for completing my nannying requirements. These experiences reflect my strong work ethic and dedication both in and out of athletics.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed strong teamwork and leadership skills through my experience in athletics, learning how to communicate effectively, support my teammates, and step up when needed. I am disciplined, hardworking, and resilient, always pushing myself to improve while staying positive under pressure. Through my volunteering, I’ve built a deep sense of empathy, responsibility, and community involvement.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, I faced a significant challenge when my father passed away in a plane crash in 2021. This experience was incredibly difficult, but it helped me become a stronger, more resilient person and taught me to truly appreciate the people around me. It showed me the importance of leaning on others and using life’s challenges to grow and keep pushing, rather than dwelling in sadness.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that will give me freedom to explore the courses and opportunities that interest me, along with a strong volleyball program where I can continue to grow as a player. Most importantly, I want a school that accepts me for who I am and values my personality, passion, and dedication, not just all my achievements.
