About Lily

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I'm an athletic, and dynamic all-around pin hitter with great gameplay IQ and leadership skills. I provide smart attacking, solid foundational defense, and key serving behind the serving line. I'm loyal and committed to my team. I’m very coachable, and always looking for feedback for growth and ways to improve.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I'm an extremely dedicated and hardworking player with a huge focus on growth and learning. My positive attitude and leadership qualities help to support my team on and off the court. I'm an introverted extravert - quiet and reserved outside of volleyball, but a strong communicator and presence on the court. I love my sport with my entire soul and I'm grateful every day I get to spend in the gym.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Community service is a extremely important to me! I love to give back to my community and volunteer any chance I can. Each year I volunteer •At a local elementary 2nd grade classroom •Columbus Buddy Walk to help support the Down Syndrome Association •Out of the Darkness Walk for Suicide Prevention and Awareness •Volleyball Youth Clinics and Camps at Mintonette •Key Club at PCHS

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

The most significant challenge I have is my height for my position. As an outside hitter, I have had to work hard to increase my strength and vertical to over compensate for my shorter frame. As a 6 rotation outside hitter, I have also had to work hard to be just as good as a defensive player as an offensive player. I train countless hours outside of normal practices to continuously improve.

What type of college are you looking for?

I would love to play for a NCAA Division I program that focuses on academic excellence, and one that offers a competitive and positive volleyball environment.

Competing for Mintonette ‘s m.52 squad this club season, Foster has proven her value to this squad given the volume of opportunity she gets to swing and with good results. At 5’9, she gets off the floor well and has good timing to contact and move the ball around with good speed. As six-rotation type of pin, she also passes and defends with good reaction and platform mechanics. The Pickerington Central product recently helped her team to a 15 Premier gold finish at Summerfest.
