About Lilyana

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As a smart setter, my gameplay style is all about strategy, court awareness, and making quick, calculated decisions. I’m constantly reading the defense, looking for gaps in the block, and using deception, like quick dumps, to keep the other team off balance.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

As a DS/setter, I bring energy, hustle, and heart every time I step on the court. I’m loud, passionate, and never afraid to take on a challenge. I love pushing myself and my teammates to be better, and I’m always looking for ways to contribute—whether it’s making a big play, encouraging others, or setting the tone off the court. I thrive in high-pressure moments and take pride in being a “spark”.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I do travel soccer for Montgomery Soccer Inc

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Playing volleyball has helped me grow as a leader and teammate. I’ve learned how to communicate effectively, stay composed under pressure, and always put the team first. It’s also taught me discipline, resilience, and the value of hard work on and off the court.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, I have faced significant challenges while balancing school soccer, club volleyball, and travel soccer, all while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. I've learned valuable time management and prioritization skills through this experience. I organize my schedule to ensure I meet all deadlines while still dedicating time to practice and games.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college with a strong volleyball program and a competitive, team-focused culture. Academics are just as important to me. I want a school that challenges me in the classroom and offers strong support for student-athletes, especially in my field of interest. I’m aiming for a place where I can grow both as a player and a student.
