About Macie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I like to play aggressive and smart. My instincts are very good and I try to play to my strengths. My height is not typical for an outside hitter, but I am successful at the National level of play because of my training and my ability to play smart. I use the defense to my advantage as much as I can.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I'm a role player. I approach my games with trusting my training and my instincts. My softball coach preaches that softball is a game of failure and to have a short memory, and that is how I approach the game settings. If I make a mistake I have to wipe it away and do better. Being a multi sport athlete helps me to be a well rounded athlete. Although they are both team sports they are different

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

In addition to playing both club and high school volleyball, I also play travel softball and high school softball. I was on the High Honor Roll this year. I was an active participant in the Key Club, which is an organization associated with the Kiwanis Organization, and through this, I complete volunteer hours/activities in addition to the ones required by my high school for graduation.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

My schedule is very busy with practices, lessons (Pitching/Hitting/Volleyball), agility/jump training, and lifting. Through it all I earn straight A's in my honors level schedule. I've been coached by strong females who have taught me the meaning of hard work, determination and to never settle. I do community service not only for my school requirement, but through the key club events as well.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I work hard, and I adapt, because I know I'm not the best I can be at what I do. I haven't had any major personal battles, just working hard to be the absolute best I can be. Challenges with players that are better than me arise and I have always just continued to work hard and know that things will work out the way they are supposed to in the end, as long as I put my best effort into everything

What type of college are you looking for?

I haven't settled in on a college or group of colleges yet, however, I do know that I want to go to a bigger school and would not mind being away from home. I am thinking about Physical Therapy, Teaching, Coaching, or Accounting as a course of study, but that is also something that I have not settled in on yet.
