Grohs is having a good spring for Invasion from the setter position. She has good hands and sends good balls to her attackers. I’ve been impressed with her back sets to the right pin specifically. As a setter in a two-setter offense, her defensive play has also been stellar.

Prepare for some Liberty North representation. Grohs gets the conversation started after she exhibited a plethora of skills at the Stock Up Showcases. She was one of the setters who embraced the intensity of defensive drills, making Grohs a brilliant asset in the right-back area. This rangy athlete can also play a DS role if needed, which isn’t a surprise after seeing her compete in Kansas City. Grohs’ high school team is building off a 24-7 and should be a title contender in 2024.

Invasion has been a fun team to watch this spring and will go at it in the USA division at nationals. One of the catalysts to the team’s success is Grohs. Standing at 5’6″, she doesn’t have the size of many of the other setters in the class but she makes up for it with a high volleyball IQ. Her reading of the defense allows her to set her hitters up in favorable scenarios to score points. As a back row setter, she is also valuable defensively in right back.
