About Mackenzie
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I play as a 5’9 left handed setter and right side hitter. My game is defined by quick decision making, strong defensive instincts, and a competitive mindset. I bring leadership to the court and work to keep my teammates energized while setting a fast paced offense.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I have a team first mentality and take pride in being coachable. I am known for my hustle and court awareness, and I thrive in competitive environments. My personality is positive and encouraging, and I push myself and my teammates to get better every day.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
At my high school I participate in peer mentoring which allows me to support and guide other students. I also coach pee wee and juniors academies at Top Flight Volleyball Club which has helped me develop patience and communication skills. Academically, I received second place in my division in the 2025 District 300 Science Fair and I have consistently been on the honor roll.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I have served as a two time captain on my high school team which has helped me grow as a leader and teammate. I focus on building trust and communication with my teammates on and off the court. I was named the 2025 Freshman Player of the Year at Top Flight Volleyball Club, and being selected to the Prep Dig Players to Watch list and 2025 AVCA Phenom Watch List reflects my commitment to hard work.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
I have faced a significant challenge in my life. When I was younger my grandmother became very sick in her early sixties. For about four years my parents were her in-home caretakers, which meant a lot of our family life had to be scheduled around her needs. As a kid it was hard to balance school, volleyball, and other activities while also watching my parents handle so much responsibility at home.
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for a college that challenges me both athletically and academically. I want a program where I can continue to grow as a setter and right side while contributing to the success of the team. Academically, I am interested in pre veterinary and veterinary science programs, so I am looking for a school that will prepare me for that career path.
