About Macy

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my gameplay style as a team-first player who will bring all the skill, energy and knowledge to each practice (like it's a game) and each match to make the team the best it can be! My gameplay style is incredibly invested in every point, energetic, talkative, gritty, cohesive, encouraging, intense, and celebratory of all players' amazingness.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Mentality: I play every point like it's a zero-to-zero game and the first to 1 point wins. I am focused and maintain concentration from the serve to the whistle. I am resilient under pressure. I want and embrace the big moments and can flush mistakes and setbacks quickly showing confidence to my teammates that they can count on me. I adjust quickly to game changes and opponents strategies.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a three-sport athlete (volleyball, basketball, and softball) involved with National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, DECA, Church, and Booster Club volunteering. Non-sport awards received include the Kwik Trip Innovative Project award through DECA, and the Walk to End Alzheimer's "Most Spirited School" competition winner, and High Honor Roll every semester in high school.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

1) Leadership: Captain in volleyball and basketball, & key starting roles (libero, point guard, 2nd-base lead-off hitter) in all 3 sports since my freshmen year. 2) Organization: "Can You Dig It?" Sand volleyball tourney organizer, senior night celebrations. 3) Teamwork: Bring out the best in teammates, develop team goals, inclusive. 4) Service: volunteer helper at youth camps and MS practices.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

A few significant challenges I have faced was overcoming our high school varsity head coach resigning mid-season my sophomore year after much drama, unrest and team meetings. This resulted in the team needing to pull together, reset, and rely on each other to overcome this setback. Another significant challenge was recovering from a major concussion in the volleyball sectional final match.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that has strong academics, the program I will be studying, and a competitive volleyball team with a coach who is invested, gives feedback, and wants to help develop me as a player and human. Lastly, I would like a college where I feel at home on campus and in the community, that provides opportunities for growth and new experiences.

Macy Kline Macy Kline Macy Kline 5'5" | DS/L State WI brings such athleticism and physicality to the libero position.  Her range is impressive where she can cover half the court in serve receive in defense.  She is the type of player who can change the game.  Her volleyball career will continue at UW-Green Bay after a very decorated career at Holmen.  Before her time at Green Bay, she will have one last go around with her Hometown Heat squad who has been a gritty squad that is typically fighting in the gold bracket on Sundays.
