About Maddilynn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I'm a very quick thinking smart player. I'm good at reading the ball and detecting where it will go on the court and I'm able to position myself to do so, or use quick reflexes to get my platform to the ball in time. I'm very versatile with tricks and smart ball handling to figure out a way to score the point if my approach is off or the set went wonky. I'm ready to chase after any ball needed.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I cheer everyone on, during plays, in the huddle, and on the bench. I'm always encouraging my teammates to keep up the great work and saying they have the next one if they make a mistake. For myself, I tend to be a very focused player and always reevaluate the mistakes I make to understand what I did wrong and how to fix it for next time. I am always creating a goal for myself to grow positivity.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I used to be involved in marching band, and I help co-coach the 8th grade spring volleyball team. I've received multiple academic awards and an academic lettermen's letter.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Past coaches that I've played for have complimented me on my constant leadership and the ability to keep the team motivated. I've also been complimented from opponent coaches on my leadership, determination and skill. I'm a very loud player on the court always calling out balls for the back row to adjust or calling players for getting the better angle to get the ball.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

In my beginning years of volleyball I had a very angry attitude. But ever since I started highschool I've grown up and out of that fase because I learned that the sport is a game of mistakes and no one will be mad at you for making mistakes. I've also had a very bad mental issue of self esteem and confidence in playing due to toxic environments and coaches.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a very well put together academic programmed school that offers really good math programs and also good athletic programs. I'm not looking for private colleges or community colleges but I'm not picky. I'm also really interested in playing D1 so any D1 school with good maths programs are my biggest interest!
