About Madelyn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

When playing volleyball I like to help my team in any way possible! No matter what position I make sure that I do all the necessary tasks to complete my job at the net! When playing I love to swing, but not just that but taking an approach as if I’m going to swing but tipping over the block last minute! I like to make the defensive side of the other team have to work harder to pick up the balls!

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality was mainly based on my favorite player Kobe Bryant! His mentality of his old school methods has made many athletes including me take their job seriously and work harder to achieve your goals! I like to color before games to calm my nervousness and listen to instrumental music so that I do not feel overhyped before games!

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes, I am involved in the national honors society and I’ve helped with summer camps for underprivileged children.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed a soft spot for the elderly people! I love offering to help them with their groceries or picking something that high on a shelf for them if they can’t reach it. For community service I was involved in a summer camp for underprivileged kids who enjoy cheerleading in gymnastics because ultimately, that is the sport I competed in from 3 and a half until 14.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, my sister had recently passed away of March in 2025. My heart broke and I don’t think I could ever get over her passing! She was someone I could vent to all the time! She was the sweetest soul ever and since then, I’ve felt like there’s been a void inside me. My sister never got to see my play volleyball because of her medical history, she had been disabled her entire life.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that makes me feel like home! I would like to stay more in the southern area and I would like a school with a lot of diversity and a body of people that feel like family. I would love to attend campus that has a vibrant atmosphere and a lot of school spirit when it comes to attending other sporting events.
