A trend I saw all weekend were so called “undersized” hitters standing out. This was one of the best I saw all weekend. She may only be 5’7, but she was getting up to 10 foot range easily with her incredible vert, and not only that, but was generating so much power with her technique and arm whip that it was fascinating. She’s got a slight, almost track star build, but with almost perfect mechanics and a great whip and snap, she was hitting a very heavy ball with great velocity. She was playing all around when I saw her, and the only drawback there is that late in tourneys all those reps catch up to you, and when you have so much of your downward plane tied to your vertical, getting tired and losing an inch or two can be the difference between hitting 12 foot or hitting out. She played the position exceptional, and a coach that isn’t hung up on height and takes talent is going to have a major difference maker in their lineup.

Maddie earned MVP honors at the Nike President’s Day Classic as a high-flying pin hitter. Despite being undersized, her exceptional skills prove that size doesn’t matter when you play as she does. She can excel in various positions on the court, making her an unstoppable force.

Madelyn has taken Parkway Central to another level; the left pin provides a ton of offensive output for HPSTL 16 Royal. Madelyn is a high-flying 5’6” outside who plays well above her height and can thump the ball. She is a great six-rotation player with a great jump serve, terrific passing game, and a tough middle back defender who can fly out of the back row and score when needed. Do not let her height fool you; the kid is a big-time baller.
