What makes that valuable is not simply being willing to swing hard; it is continuing to present herself as an option after the defense has already seen her several times. Primary hitters eventually have to learn how to score against blocks that are waiting for them, and Madison’s growing role gives her repeated opportunities to develop that problem-solving ability.

Her next layer is about expanding the toolbox around her physical attack. Seeing hands, changing speeds and recognizing when the smartest play is a controlled high swing instead of forcing a sharp angle will make her increasingly difficult to defend.
