About Madysen

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a versatile hitter that reads the block and puts the ball away. I swing with confidence and read the defense well to run routes that open up the court. I play scrappy when necessary and go for everything because there’s always a chance to keep the ball up

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

This is a game of mistakes if you don’t make errors no one would win we just have to make sure the other team makes more. Errors don’t define me but the way I persevere through the tribulations does. Sometimes I’ll really be going through it. But that’s just what it is I won’t get stuck there I’ll get through it and better myself.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m in a leadership program at Moorhead high and I’ve earned an academic letter and am on track for another one this year.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve been working hard on my leadership skills not just on the court. I’ve been working on communication and teamwork with team bonding over the the past year or two with my team.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My sophomore year I struggled with severe anxiety and self worth issues. I was splitting playing time with someone that had just started playing and had made JV with me and it diminished my self image but I’ve been making great strides and finding myself outside of volleyball and making myself realize my sport isn’t me.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a competetive team with a close knit school community. I’m looking for a good wildlife science program to help jumpstart my career.
