Big and physical, Maezi is a strong M2 candidate for anyone looking for a size and strength combination at the next level. Over the last couple of seasons, Maezi has slowly improved from being big and shy to big and able to take over a match if you let her. I also like how her strength and jumping ability has improved, as proof that she’s put in the work to get stronger and jump higher rather than rest on the fact that she’s 6’3″. The work ethic is there, the high volleyball IQ is there, and she’s steadily improved over the years of playing. What more do you need?

Big and physical, Maezi has slowly changed from the nice big kid in the middle to a faster, tougher version of what big middles should be. Easily found on Boiler Juniors’ 17-1 squad, she’s already head-and-shoulders (literally) better than a lot of middles playing in the open division here in Indiana, and she’s done enough traveling throughout the midwest to show everyone what she’s made of. I love how this kid has developed, and has even added a bit of pace behind the ball when attacking.

Big and physical, there aren’t too many middles with Miss Snyder’s size AND length in this class. On net defense, she’s broad-shouldered, making her tough to hit around or through. On offense, she’s quick on transition and attacks high and hard, turning smaller blocks into mere tools to hit off of and over. Her improvement over the years has been steady but consistent, which is more than I can say for a lot of middles in this class. Plus, you can’t teach 6’3″, which is an even rarer find in Indiana.

An M2 through and through, Maezi is a big and physical middle that can take up space on the block and power through undisciplined blocks regularly because of her size and the angle at which she attacks. Being in the gym around outstanding coaching for most of her volleyball career (in both HS and club), she’s come along quickly as an attacker. Her block, of course, is exceptional, and her broad shoulders couple with her long legs to not only close blocks but defend from pin to pin easier than most. Again, you can’t teach size. But Miss Snyder’s skill set makes recruiting her that much easier.
