About Makayla

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Im a quick learner with a high vball IQ, I am able to quickly adapt to different styles of play and I can play all 3 front row positions, including all the middle sets and I am able to just to the high pin sets as well. I am currently a 6 rotation player for my high school and primarily play the middle back position, and they like to use me as an offensive back row threat.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I would consider myself hardworking, dedicated and self motivated. I love to play volleyball that is my passion, but I also love spending time with my family and friends. Im easy to get along with and I joke around a lot. I am who I am some people can handle it and usually the ones who cant are too soft for me. Im a competitor and not afraid to speak my mind, not in a bad way, just the truth.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I currently am a part of our FCA organization here on campus, and Im involved in my youth group at my local church. We do a lot of community service during within our volleyball program.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Iv developed great communication skills throughout the years as we have visited our local orphanages, the old folks home in our area, we have delivered turkeys to the less fortunate in our city and we have made some home made cancer blankets to give out to the teachers and students within our own school to give to during the month of October.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My brother was diagnosed with Lymphoma when I was in middle school, it was a rough time for me, but through it all I learned that my family and my faith in Jesus was the only thing I really had and I my faith grew mountains when I saw my brother was completely healed and it changed me inside. It was no longer my parents God, but He had become My God as I drew closer to Him during this time.

What type of college are you looking for?

Im looking for a college that has Physical therapy as a major and volleyball
